Attention! Women are Standing Up for Themselves!

This Turkish sticker caught my eye a couple nights ago as I was leaving the subway.  Here’s my attempt to translate it:

Attention!
Women are standing up for themselves

If you leer at, make catcalls at, or physically harass a woman, she might get angry, shout at you, and pour the beer in her hand over your head or slap you!  We recommend you absolutely avoid undesirable actions like these!

Women, immigrants, the homeless, the transgendered, and gays/lesbians often suffer from violence.  Don’t ignore it, intervene!

The sticker has since been peeled off, but just today I came across what appears to be the original German version in another part of town (but instead of a slap, the woman is unleashing a speech bubble of furious icons).  Maybe there’s a larger campaign going on?  According to the stories I heard today from a new Hungarian acquaintance, many Turkish men would make deserving targets.
