Yes, for those of you who don’t know, there is actually software for napping. It’s called Pzizz and while I’ve only tried it a couple times, I have to say that it’s pretty cool. (I’m still testing to see if a Pzizz nap is more refreshing than a regular nap, which is what the company claims.) The program generates a new audio track for each nap that combines relaxing sounds with a voice that helps get you in the mood for nodding off; it’s basically designed for you to make the most of those 20-minute power naps. Another nice feature is that you can export the tracks to your iPod.
Pzizz normally costs $40. For some that’s a small price to pay for full membership in geekdom, but for others it’s ridiculous. After all, you can probably fall asleep just fine on your own.
Well, until midnight tonight (EDT) only, you can get a free copy of Pzizz by casting a vote in the My Dream App competition. The contest is interesting in its own right, but you don’t have to spend much time at the site to get the goods. Sure enough, after a simple registration process and a vote, I got an email with a license for the full version of Pzizz.
Thanks to Merlin Mann at 43Folders for pointing out this opportunity. He’s a fan of pzizz.
