Happy New Year and Iyi Bayramlar

I hope everyone had a great New Year’s Eve, and to all my friends in Turkey, iyi bayramlar!

No big resolutions this year, just a general plan to stay on the productivity wagon and live contentedly.

…which brings to mind a poem I saw engraved on the wall of Penn Station in New York.  Seems like a good time of year to reread this:

Temporary Well Being

The pond is plenteous
The land is lush,
And having turned off the news
I am for the moment mellow.

    With my book in one hand
    And my drink in the other
    What more could I want

But fame,
Better health,
And ten million dollars?
