My Internet-free study room in Princeton’s library looks over a foyer with tables that are particularly crowded now that finals are about to start. On Friday I looked down and saw this guy trying to study for a history class while watching an episode of Scrubs. I’ve never seen a full episode, so I’m going to withhold judgment on the merits of having Zach Braff as your study buddy…
It reminded me of when I was a senior back in 1999. AtomFilms and iFilm were just starting to host short films online, so I’d sit in the library and convince myself that, as an aspiring filmmaker, I was actually doing research by watching clip after clip. Some were so good that I had to drag my friends over to watch. (Sorry, Dave.)
Ah, shoot, just for old time’s sake, here’s a video you just have to check out. It’s my favorite commercial of all time. I don’t think it aired in the U.S.
Levi’s “Odyssey” (60 sec, .mov)
