So far 312 votes have been cast in the academic haiku contest — thanks to all who have participated! All the categories have very close races and it’s still a toss-up as to which poems will make it to the final round. Those of you who haven’t voted yet still have a chance to change the outcome of the contest, just make sure to cast your vote today before 11:59 PM, EST.
Curiously, there are 20 fewer votes in both the humanities and physical science categories than the social science category. Anyone know why that could be? Are people sticking to their own fields?
Here are the four categories once again:
Humanities
Physical science
Social science
Tech/computers/internet
Happy voting…and stay tuned to learn the four finalists on Tuesday morning!

Wow, this is impressive. But after all of your efforts on the contest, I’m wondering whether you’ll have to post in coming weeks on how haiku contests are to the efficiency seeker as a bender is to a Lenten fast?

If you had said managing haiku contests I’d be right with you.
