Primer on the current crisis in Turkey

There’s been a lot of news out of Turkey recently about the developing political crisis. For those unfamiliar with the situation, there’s a great overview in this brief Q & A article from the BBC. The piece already needs to be updated to reflect the early election that will be held in July, but it’s still a great resource that will help you get the big picture in a jiffy.

As for me, the political crisis could impact my research, but most likely only if the military makes the very unwise decision to obstruct the upcoming election. I have hunches about how that would affect my research site, and it would make for a nice natural experiment, but I hope for the sake of the country that it doesn’t happen.
