Off to Barcelona - got any tips?

Pinar and I are going to Barcelona tomorrow for 12 days.  This is the first time we’ve been there and we’re excited about the trip.  I know it’s last minute, but if you have any tips on places to see, food to try, or things to do, please let me know in the comments!

Updates on the site might be few and far between, but I hope to post a few times from the road.  If you haven’t done so yet, you can subscribe to my RSS feed and save yourself the trouble of checking back in.

The museum of contemporary art, of course!! Also any of Gaudi’s buildings; Sagrada Familia, Casa Mila. Don’t forget your camera!

My wife and I are vacationing in Barcelona right now, and it’s definitely the best city we’ve ever been to. This is our first time here and we didn’t know much about it before we arrived.

One of the first things I would recommend is to take the official bus tour (Bus Touristic). The tour consists of three separate routes that cover virtually every part of the city. Because there is so much to see, I recommend buying the two-day pass (it’s only 4 euros more than the one-day pass).

After the bus tour, I’m sure you’ll have lots of ideas of what to do.

Also, as Laura says, all of Antonio Gaudi’s architecture is amazing (you’ll see alot of it on the tour).

One place worth seeing (that is not on the tour) is the Parc de la Ciutadella. It’s the most beautiful park I’ve ever seen.

Last but not least, bring your bathing suits and hit the beaches.

I’ve posted photos and other info related to Barcelona on my own blog (http://www.barkhuff.com).

Thanks, guys! We arrived this afternoon and set out exploring without any plans. We happened to walk past Casa Mila and will definitely get back to visit it.

Thanks for mentioning the park, Justin. I saw it on a map just a few minutes before reading your comment — the pictures on your site and the one you linked to look great.
