I’m heading to Ankara on Monday to chat with several Diyanet officials; I should be back Wednesday night. These meetings are really important for the next phase of my project, and last summer I had a great experience at the Diyanet, so I’m looking forward to this trip.
I’m also excited about meeting with a computer science professor named Fazli Can at Bilkent University in Ankara. Can is an expert on information retrieval systems and is probably the best person to talk with about the quantitative analysis of Turkish texts. I’ll be out of my league for sure, but I’ve got to start somewhere.
Anyone else out there doing latent semantic analysis?
