Pamplona a la Turca

City officials warn people to sacrifice in approved areas and take care while transporting and restraining animals, but there are three stories that always make the news during Eid ul-Adha:

1. People sacrificing in public places (non-gory picture) because they didn’t want to wait in line.
2. “Amateur butchers” injuring themselves (1413 people last year).
3. Escaped bulls running for their lives down city streets.

Tonight’s evening news didn’t disappoint, though I always feel sad because things never turn out for the bull. It’s Pamplona in reverse, and somehow the people always catch up.
